Sonar privacy policy
Sonar is a macOS app created by Michal Černý. This policy explains what data Sonar uses, where that data is stored, and how it is handled.
Data collection
Sonar does not collect personal data for the developer, does not run third-party analytics, and does not track users across apps or websites.
Data Sonar uses on your Mac
To work with App Store Connect analytics, Sonar may use the following information locally on your device:
- App Store Connect connection details you provide, such as issuer ID, key ID, and private key references.
- Short-lived App Store Connect tokens generated from your credentials.
- Analytics files, app lists, and related App Store Connect data downloaded from Apple at your request.
- Basic local preferences, such as selected app, screen settings, and refresh timing.
Where data is stored
Sonar stores sensitive connection data locally on your Mac, including secure storage where appropriate such as Keychain-backed storage. Downloaded analytics files and caches are also stored locally on your device so the app can display reports and comparisons.
How data is shared
Sonar communicates directly with Apple services, including App Store Connect and Apple’s public App Store endpoints, to fetch the data needed for the app experience. The developer does not receive a copy of that data through Sonar.
Tracking and advertising
Sonar does not use advertising SDKs, does not profile users for advertising, and does not use tracking technologies for cross-app or cross-site behavior.
Your choices
You can stop using Sonar at any time, remove the stored App Store Connect connection from within the app, and delete the app from your Mac. Because Sonar is designed as a local desktop tool, there is no separate Sonar account to close.
